About Pick-A-Prof Reviews
One of the best ways to learn about what a professor is like in class is to ask other students who have taken the course before. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find people who have taken alll of the professors teaching a course. Additionally, you might not be able to find more than one person who has taken a particular class, further limiting your information on the professor's teaching style.

By collecting Student Reviews, Pick-A-Prof has become a central point of information exchange between students on campuses across the nation. Pick-A-Prof extends your circle of friends to include the entire campus so that you only have to go to one place to find out everything you need to know before registering for a course.
Unlike any other website with professor reviews, Pick-A-Prof reads and ranks every review based on usefulness and content before posting.
Pick-A-Prof will not post reviews that contain any of the following:
  • Profanity
  • Personal attacks on professors
  • References to other reviews or other professors
We ask that reviews center around the following types of information:
  • Teaching style (straight lecture, overheads, guest speakers...)
  • Type and number of exams (essay, multiple choice, take home...)
  • Homework load
  • Information other students will find useful when deciding to take this professor
When submitting a review, students are also asked for an overall rating (1/poor - 5/excellent) of the professor. Professor ratings are not accepted without accompanying reviews to justify them.
We maintain these standards to provide quality feedback to both students and professors.

Math 101

She is a great teacher. She is the only teacher I have ever had with 500+ students who cares whether her students understand the material. She gives easy quizzes at the end of class about the information she just covered in class. It is difficult material, but Dr. Smith is willing to help you learn it however she can. Attendance to this class is important.

She is a REALLY, REALLY good teacher! She does reviews every week and it's hard to get a seat!! She's very good at breaking problems down into steps to help you learn how to do them easier. If you keep up with the homework (which you have to do to make good grades on the weekly quizzes), you will have NO problem with the tests. I would DEFINITELY suggest taking this teacher.

Dr. Smith is the best math professor I have ever had. She takes great pains to make sure that you know the material. Since MATH 101 has the same grade and exam scheme for every professor, I can't vouch for how she writes tests or handles homework, except that her final was very fair. She sometimes has in-class open note quizzes in addition to the recitation, as well. I would recommend taking this professor if you can. I took her at 8 AM MWF and didn't regret it.
