The Degree Planner is designed to assist students in planning their academic career. This tool is not intended to replace any plans set by a student's advisor. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor regarding the classes necessary to complete their degree and meet graduation requirements.
Credits (Hours)
Credits (sometimes called "hours") represent the number of points you earn toward your degree for completing a course.
Grades
A course is considered complete when you enter a grade for the course. The Average Grade in the top right of your degree plan is calculated using a weighted average of the grades you earned with number of credits for each course. NOTE: If you enter a zero for a grade it will be included in the weighted average, leave the grade field blank if you have not completed a course. Note: Grades should be numbers (3.5, 4.0, etc) and NOT letters (A, B, C, D, F).
Pass / Fail Courses
If you take a course Pass/Fail enter "P" or "F" respectively into the grade box for that course when you have completed it. The credit associated with the course will be counted but your average grade will be unaffected.
Lectures / Labs / Recitations
On some campuses lectures are grouped with labs or recitations. For scheduling purposes it may be necessary to add a course once for a lecture and a second time for it's lab or recitation. To ensure your total credit hours are correct click "View/Edit Details" and remove the credit hours from all but one of instance of the course.
